SERGEANT SPENCER WALTON

Sergeant Spencer Walton joined the Atlantic Police Department in August, 2008. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2016. He graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in April, 2009 as part of the 226th basic class. Prior to and during his employment with the A.P.D. he studied at Iowa State University and Peru State College, obtaining a degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Sergeant Walton is a state certified firearms instructor, instructor in law enforcement and civilian response to active intruders and has additional training in areas such as criminal intelligence and narcotics interdiction. Sergeant Walton is also a liaison to the Atlantic Police Reserves; assisting the Police Reserves with training and the arrangement of their functions within the community. His spare time is often spent coordinating/training citizens of the community, instructing for the ALICE Training Institute or spending time with his family and friends.
