SERGEANT CODY ECKLES

Sergeant Cody Eckles joined the Atlantic Police Department in October 2009. Prior to the Atlantic Police Department Sergeant Eckles worked as a Detention Officer for the Pottawattamie County Jail. Sergeant Eckles served with the United States Navy from 2003-2007 onboard the USS Dubuque as a Boatswains Mate. He served as a security boat coxswain and the Visit Board Search and Seizure team (VBSS) coxswain. Sergeant Eckles graduated the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in the 235th basic class in July 2010. He received the Woodard Award for achieving the highest academic average of his class and achieved the 300 point club for high physical fitness standards in the 235th basic. Sergeant Eckles grew up in Griswold and was a 2003 graduate of Griswold High School. Sergeant Eckles special interests are OWI enforcement, drug interdiction and criminal investigations. He is a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing instructor. When not at work Sergeant Eckles likes to go camping and spend time with his wife and 3 daughters.
